An Invitation

“God has chosen, continually, to work out infinite purposes with finite tools — us.” (St. Teresa Benedicta Of the Cross) |

Our life in the Discalced Carmelite monastery is both challenging and full of the joy of the Lord. It is for those who dare to expect the experience of life in divine intimacy, in all its fullness (John 10:10). It is particularly for those single men who have heard the still small voice calling them to “walk before Me and be blameless” (Genesis 17: 1). They feel the call to assist the people of God, to experience the God of our ancestors, and to “stand in His presence” (1 Kings 18: 15) like the prophet Elijah. We are men who are called to show a world, which is tending towards a spiritual wilderness, that the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, calls us to become a fruitful vineyard — a garden like Eden, where the Lord God wants to walk with us in friendship. The Lord Himself knocks upon the hearts of His people. It is the charism of the Discalced Carmelite, through a multiplicity of ministries, born of a deep reflective prayer life (Psalm 1:2), to hold these doors open and to guide His people through a personal encounter with the Lord. If you would like to investigate the possibility that God may be calling you to the life of the Discalced Carmelite, then contact us and together we will walk and talk about your journey.
